Look at everyday objects in a different light with renowned glass artist, Silvia Levenson. Inspired by Silvia’s famous exhibition work “Identidad Desaparecida” (Missing Identity), she will demonstrate how to take everyday objects and transfer their form and texture into glass.

During these 5 days we will explore different techniques of kilncasting, such as:
– The use of alginate to reproduce different body parts
– Lost wax technique using silicone rubber
– Mouldmaking
– How to program the kiln
– Basic cold working

During these four days you will learn different techniques of image transfer on glass, such as: – Screen Printing with glass powders – Manual fabrication of silkscreen – Use digital decals – Realization of high and low temperature decals – Experimental photography on glass – Use of stamps and alternative printing

In Between – En el Medio

During this workshop we will reproduce objects by using kiln-casting and lost wax techniques. Flameworking and glass fusing will be used to create fired inclusions. Image and print techniques will be explored to add graphic elements, creating unique sculptural opportunities.
Techniques: Kiln-casting, Fusing, Mold-making (silicone, rubber, alginate), Mold-making (plaster silica), Screen Printing, Vinyl Cutting, Surfacing, Sandblasting

Teaching and sharing are an integral part of my art practice. Since I began exhibiting my work in 1995, I have developed a unique language and accumulated valuable experiences that I am excited to share with you.

I propose customized online lessons designed to meet your needs and desires. The Basic Tutoring Online package includes two meetings of up to an hour and a half each, with these topics : Discussion of your works and projects: We will analyze your works together, identifying strengths and areas for improvement. Analysis of the creative process: We will explore the work of your favorite artists to understand their techniques and approaches. Survey of the world of glass and contemporary art: We will delve into current trends and innovative techniques in art and art glass. Preparation of art documentation: I will guide you in creating effective resumes, biographies and artist statements Presenting your works: We will learn how to present your work in the context of art and glass
